A little more data on our Lower Leg Removal Tools

Our Lower Leg Removal Tools are made of high impact resistance, rigid "soft touch" thermoplastics and metal fittings so you have all the toughness needed and extra protection for your forks!

Our 3D printed Lower Leg Removal Tools are made of high impact resistance, rigid "soft touch" thermoplastics
Our Lower Leg Removal Tools uses specific metal fittings for both the spring side and damper side.

STEP 1: Know what fork components are on your bikes

Our Lower Leg Removal Tools are compatible with FOX, Marzocchi and RockShox forks.

  • FOX and Marzocchi forks most of the time require a different Lower Leg Removal Tool for the air/spring side and for the damper side; which is why our Lower Leg Removal Tools Kit comes in handy. **These tools are not compatible with FOX Step-Cast forks**
  • RockShox forks use the same fitting specs on both the air/spring side and damper side and require only 1 tool to remove the lower leg.
Forks require a specific fitting for both the spring side and damper side. Our 3D printed Lower Leg Removal Tools have their ID engrave on each of them to make your life easier.

Find the Technical Manual of your specific bikes and forks
You read that right. Most of the fork manufacturers will have a Technical Manual made specifically for your products. You should find a lot of useful information in these manuals such as part numbers, torque specifications, parts orientation, part ID, greases and oils (just to name a few).

Always find your manufacturers Technical Manuals before proceeding with your bike maintenance.

STEP 2: Get your tools out!

Once you know which specific fork is on your bike and have the parts needed for your service, get your tools out and work smart!

When looking to remove the lower leg, simply screw the proper Lower Leg Removal Tool(s) for your fork and gently tap on the tool(s) with a soft rubber mallet to remove both the air/spring side and the damper side.

Excessive force should never be used! A few taps should be enough to push the air shaft and/or damper shaft out of their housing. Our tool will protect your fork and hold firmly but it should not take a bodybuilder to tap the shafts out.

*PRO TIP #1: Make sure to screw in enough threads to protect the threads on the air and damper shafts and get a solid grip.

*PRO TIP #2: Be careful not to scratch the air and damper shafts when removing the lower leg of your fork.

Planning to remove the air shaft of your fork and want to get a little something to protect the shaft while proceeding? We have an Air Shaft Protector Tool for you!

Planning to replace the Dust Wiper Seals on your fork? We also have Fork Seal Driver Tools for you!
